Agnieszka Makles is a Polish language lecturer at Rutgers University. She holds an MA in Foreign Language Teaching from Michigan State University following an earlier MA in Pedagogy from Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, Poland. Her research interests include the application of corpus linguistics to language teaching, the use of authentic texts in instruction, and heritage language learners. Agnieszka is also co-founder/field researcher for the Texas Polish Dialect Project, focused on documenting the unique Polish language variety in Central Texas. Finally, she co-directs the Kościuszko Squadron, a Polish culture forum for cadets at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.
